Updated 80's

Today was chilly, so I decided I wanted to wear boots with tights. Then I chose the cream skirt because the color went well with the boots. I wanted it to still be casual so I kept it simple with the tee. Last, I threw in the charm necklace. In the end, it turned out looking kind like refined 80's... Oh well! Nothing wrong with a little 80's once in while!

Street Style - Red Pants

Red pants have been everywhere lately and I personally love this trend. Unfortunately, I have yet to get myself a pair, so here are some of my favorite street style I rounded up. These outfits show a pretty wide variety and styles of this trend. The high waisted ruffle pants with the white silk top is a much more dressier outfit compared to the relaxed white tee. Then for a jacket you could dress them up with a blazer or go more casual with a safari jacket. For a real statement, going all out red, even to the lipstick, is a fun way to make and entrance! My personal favorite is the first look. I love the classic jacket and I think the camel is a great alternative to just white or black with the red. Which one is your favorite?

A Pop (or Two) of Color

Today was just a regular school day, but I decided to give my jeans a day off and wear this skirt. It's pretty basic but lately I've been really liking tribal patterns. Also, I don't wear much purple so this is a little different from the rest of my closet. I always feel like wearing a black shirt is the easy thing to do, so I went for this striped thermal tee partly because its was a nice contrast, but it was also just cold out! I added the cardigan for some extra warmth. I thought the outfit needed some sparkle, so I put on my bedazzled bow necklace:) Lastly, I chose these shoes because I thought the cutouts played nicely off the geometric quality of the skirt. After all that, I just threw my hair up and ran out the door!

Wildfox + Jeffrey Campbell

A few days ago I found out that Wildfox Couture and Jeffrey Campbell shoes are collaborating for shoe collection and words cannot describe how excited I am!!!!! I have loved Wildfox since Taylor Swift was seen wearing constantly wearing the tees and I have always thought Jeffrey Campbell made such unique and cool shoes. Together, I think they will put out an amazing line. From these previews, all the shoes look great, but I especially love the ballet platforms. The black lace ups are so cute with the pink sock too. Here are some of the preview pictures I could find. Enjoy!

Tres Cool

This outfit is so comfortable but still cute at the same time. I love the color of the sweater so I decided to keep the rest of the outfit black. I bought the shorts over the summer, but they are pretty versatile. I just threw on the tights to make it fall appropriate. Lastly, I wore the patent shoes and flower ring to add some sparkle!

Alexa Chung - A Current Style Icon

Alexa Chung has such a unique sense of style. The current Teen Vogue cover girl is always wearing something that is just so cool. And while that description isn't very detailed, it seems to fit perfectly. Whether she is at a music festival or at the tents of fashion week, she is always look fabulously chic. She is now designing for Madewell, and I absolutely love her line. I want every piece! Here are some of my favorite looks of her's, from magazine covers to the streets to her very own collection.

First for Fall

A chilly fall day and I'm off to the mall. Unfortunately, this outfit will make it difficult to try anything on! Anyways, I just bought this sweater and I thought it would be great with a plain black dress. I love neckline of this dress and the buttons are so cute. Since it was cooler I decided to wear tights and boots. These boots are handmade from Italy and are one of my prized possessions. For the final touch I threw on the hat and I'm ready for an unsuccessful day of shopping:)

Old School Meets New School

Lately I have been really loving the trend of the sort of updated school girl. This trend has been seen all over the Fall 2011 runway and on many big stores as well. The main ideas include collars, pleated skirts, school uniform colors and girly patterns sometimes with a touch of fur thrown in. For accessories, high socks, mary jane shoes, and sheer tights are big. Sometimes it ends up looking very Gossip Girl, and sometimes very good girl gone bad, but either way, this trend is one worth wearing. Here are some runway looks and some clothes to buy that really embody the updated school girl.

Lace + Stripes

Today I'm going to a casual party and I decided to embrace one of the last warmer days of the fall. This lace top is completely sheer and I had always had a hard time deciding what to wear with it. But today when I was rummaging through my closet I found it laying right next to the striped shorts and realize that the colors went perfectly. Plus, It the became obvious to wear a black tank under the top. Lastly, for accessories, I just through on the shoes and flower and I'm ready to go!
